A former computer media librarian, Janet abandoned a career in technology to start The Grooming Rigg in 1985. After graduating from the New York School of Dog Grooming, she started a mobile grooming service based out of her Hillsborough home using a van converted by her husband.

By 1989, the business had outgrown the homemade vehicle and Janet purchased a new and larger custom-built grooming van. In 1991 she hired her first full-time employee and opened a small grooming shop on property occupied by the Belle Mead Animal Hospital. In 2000, when the BMAH moved to new quarters next door, Janet was invited to share the building.

Under her guidance, The Grooming Rigg has established itself as the premier pet-grooming establishment in the area, offering its clientele the best in quality mobile and shop services.

When not serving her four-legged friends, Janet enjoys swimming, volleyball, gardening, and is a classic-car enthusiast. She shares her home with her husband, Doug; coonhound, Frankie; standard poodle, EmmaLee; and birds Toby and Vinnie.
